First Street pizzeria robbed at gunpoint
Los Altos police are seeking a suspect for questioning in connection with the Friday armed robbery of Round Table Pizza at 399 First St.
According to police, a white male in his 20s or early 30s entered through the pizzeria’s front door armed with a black semiautomatic handgun at approximately 9:30 p.m. Friday and demanded cash from an employee at the front counter. The employee complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect, who then fled the scene on foot southbound on First toward Lyell Street.
Police described the suspect as approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing an estimated 170 pounds. The suspect entered the pizzeria wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, black pants and gloves. Police could not confirm if the suspect is connected to several other armed robberies in the downtown area this year.
Investigators encourage anyone with information regarding the incident to call the Los Altos Police Department at 947-2770.
May 17, 2:03 p.m., 1600 block of Newcastle Drive: An unknown individual forced his or her way into a residence, ransacked the master bedroom and stole jewelry.
May 18, 3:25 p.m., 1200 block of Estate Drive: An unknown suspect entered a residence through an open garage door and stole a bicycle.
Drug possession arrest
May 19, 1:19 a.m., Eastwood Place and Covington Road: Police responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle arrested a 25-year-old male motorist for drug possession. Officers at the scene made contact with the driver and discovered methamphetamine residue in the vehicle. The motorist later admitted to being in possession of ecstasy as well. The suspect was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail.
Felony drug warrant arrest
May 17, 5:38 p.m., 100 block of Fremont Avenue: Police arrested a 20-year-old male, wanted on an outstanding felony drug warrant. The suspect was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail.
