Add Silicon Valley to former President Barack Obama’s Election 2020 fundraising tour.
The ex-commander in chief is slated to appear Nov. 21 at the home of Los Altos Hills resident Dr. Karla Jurvetson, a psychiatrist and political activist.
“Are you ready to pitch in to save our democracy and win back the White House?,” reads an email invitation attributed to Jurvetson by the Democratic National Committee. “I’m honored to be hosting President Obama at my home on November 21st for his first political event of the 2020 election! Hoping you can join us for this DNC reception – every dollar will go toward winning a Democratic victory.”
The event, scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., is billed as a “conversation” with the president and DNC Chairman Tom Perez. Tickets for attendance start at $10,000. The top ticket tier, “Chair,” will set back guests a cool $355,000, but perks include a “VIP reception, access to National Finance Committee Benefits and Premium Convention Package.” Guests must pay at least $35,500 to secure a photo with Obama.
DNC representatives did not respond to questions about the event by the Town Crier’s press deadline.
