City OKs events for State Street Green

The State Street Green pop-up park will reappear for a three-week span starting today – and will play host to a few city-approved events as well.

The park is temporarily returning for a second summer – on the same State Street block between First and Second streets – so that Safeway can complete the construction of three crosswalks at the nearby First and State intersection. The park, according to city officials, will remain open through June 13. Safeway is partially funding the installation of the park so that it can close the intersection and complete the work during that span.
