Workers pass out required paperwork to county resident awaiting COVID-19 testing at Mountain View’s Rengstorff Park in May.

Santa Clara County provides appointment-based COVID-19 testing on a rotating basis, including at test sites in Los Altos, Los Altos Hills and Mountain View.

Testing is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the following dates at the following locations in August and September.
• Los Altos: Los Altos Youth Center, 1 N. San Antonio Road, Aug. 13 and Sept. 10.
• Los Altos Hills: Town hall, 26379 W. Fremont Road, Aug. 7 and Sept. 4.
• Mountain View: Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St., Aug. 4, Aug. 18, Sept. 1 and 15.

Tests are free, and no health insurance or doctor’s note is required.

“Convenience is key,” said County Supervisor Joe Simitian, chairman of the county’s Health and Hospital Committee. “If we want more people to be tested, providing locally available and convenient sites is essential. … Residents will now be able to know when testing will be available in their community, and can more easily plan in advance.”

Appointments will be open for scheduling three days before the testing date. Once all appointments are filled, the location will no longer appear for scheduling on the website.
