Hills seeks residents to serve on Planning Commission

Los Altos Hills residents are encouraged to apply for one of three Planning Commission positions that will soon become available.

The terms of commissioners Jitze Couperus, Birgitta Indaco and Susan Mandle all expire in June. Their successors will serve a four-year term starting July 1 and ending June 30, 2024. The other two commissioners, Rajiv Patel and Ed Smith, are slated to serve until June 2022.

The commission typically meets on the first Thursday of every month to review planning permits and controversial development projects, City Clerk Deborah Padovan wrote in a Nextdoor.com post about the vacancies. The commission also advises the city council on matters related to the town’s general plan and its zoning and site development ordinance.

Applications may be submitted via the town’s website at tinyurl.com/LAH-PC-App. They are due by 5 p.m. June 11. City council members will interview qualified candidates at the council’s monthly meeting, June 18.
