Susanna Chan, Public Works director for the city of Los Altos, resigned last week, with her last day scheduled Friday.
Chan recently accepted the position of assistant general manager with the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District.
“We are very thankful for all Susanna has accomplished during her time in Los Altos,” said City Manager Chris Jordan. “Susanna oversaw the successful adoption of the city’s Stormwater Master Plan in April 2016 and the Pedestrian Master Plan in August 2015. Thankfully, she’s leaving us with a highly capable team, and I wish her all the best in her next role.”
Chan was hired in 2015 to oversee the city’s Engineering and Maintenance Services divisions.
“I have enjoyed working with an incredible team of professionals during my time in Los Altos,” she said. “Los Altos is a beautiful community and I have enjoyed my time serving its residents. The opportunity to join the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District as it embarks upon an array of exciting projects afforded by the passage of Measure AA in 2014 is one I couldn’t pass up.”
The city is working on a plan to find Chan’s replacement.
