Residents can expect traffic delays along First Street Tuesday through Thursday next week as the city of Los Altos undertakes a road-resurfacing project along First between West Edith Avenue and State Street.
According to city officials, the project, scheduled Nov. 13-15, will include grinding existing asphalt pavement, placing a new layer of asphalt, upgrading an existing Americans with Disabilities Act ramp and upgrading striping to include new “Share the Road” signs.
The contractor began work last week to replace the ADA ramp at the southeast corner of West Edith and First.
City officials said they have reached out to businesses and residents along the impacted street segment in person to share project information.
“The city is committed to completing the project as quickly as possible and to minimize impacts to the downtown area,” city spokeswoman Erica Ray said.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid First Street between West Edith and State during the construction period.
