Reeder receives leadership award
David Reeder, member of the El Camino Healthcare District Board of Directors, received the 2013 Leadership in Governance Award from the California Hospital Association.
Reeder was appointed to the board in 1999 and has since been re-elected three times. His current term expires in November.
The award recognizes elected or appointed officials who have met the increasing challenges of health-care organizations, shown an outstanding commitment to their communities and exhibited leadership, strategic planning and support to the hospital or system in question, according to association officials.
The association honored Reeder as a “driving force opposing Measure M, an initiative that would have limited what the public hospital could pay administrators.”
The measure, initially approved by county voters in November 2012, was invalidated last year in court following a lawsuit by the hospital district.
