Resident says water district back with creek plans that LAH Council rejected

With two new councilmembers on board, the Los Altos Hills City Council is set to hear from Santa Clara Valley Water District officials Thursday about Adobe Creek repair work that one watchful resident says is just plain bad design.

"This is the third time the water district is trying to get an easement (from the town) for a bad design," said Los Altos Hills resident D.J. Rogez.

Last July, councilmembers told water district officials the project, which includes creek reinforcement and revegetation, had to be redone, but Rogez claims tomorrow's presentation reflects the same design the council rejected six months ago.

He also claims that district officials are being shifty in their attempts to get approvals. He points to a letter from district 5 Director Greg Zlotnick written last month that raises hope that the town council will "fulfill the town's previous commitment to approve the easements for the project."

"The (town) never committed at all," Rogez said.

Thursday's meeting is set for 6 p.m. at Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Road.
