A citywide pavement project will affect traffic on two well-traveled streets over the next two weeks, according to a press release issued by the city of Los Altos.
Grant Road between Foothill Expressway and April Lane is scheduled to be repaved and repainted Tuesday and Oct. 11. El Monte Avenue between Foothill Expressway and Springer Road is slated to receive similar street treatments Oct. 19 and 20.
The press release said drivers should expect delays and avoid the work areas between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., as traffic will be reduced to one direction.
Detour signs will be erected to direct traffic flow. Through-access will be maintained from Grant Road at the intersections of Covington Road, Bryant Avenue, Portland Avenue, Oak Avenue, Fremont Avenue and Morton Avenue.
Along El Monte Avenue, through-access will be maintained at the intersections of South Clark Avenue, Hawthorne Avenue and Cuesta Drive.
The press release reported that contractors will maintain access to cul-de-sacs along the routes.
