Shortly after Mountain View Police detectives issued an Amber Alert for Madilyn Wallin on Wednesday, she was found in the custody of her paternal grandmother in Livemore and reunited with her mother, according to a police press release.

Suspect Michael Wallin, 45, of Patterson, left a path of destruction and nearly injured Madilyn’s mother and her adult son during an altercation at a Mountain View Residence Inn Tuesday night, according to police. The incident began at approximately 8:30 p.m. with an argument between Wallin and the girl’s mother. Wallin, while allegedly driving off with Madilyn in his lap, dragged her mother by the car a short distance before she could break free. He then “brake-checked” the adult son’s vehicle, causing a collision.

Police described Wallin as a white male with brown hair, brown eyes and “distinctive tattoos” across his torso and on his hands. He is 6 feet 2 inches tall and approximately 220 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white Golden State Warriors T-shirt. He may be traveling in a blue, four-door, 2007 Nissan Altima with paper plates and recent front and rear collision damage.

Anyone with information about Wallin’s whereabouts is urged to call the police at 911 or 903-6395.
