Mountain View teens injured in drive-by shooting

Mountain View Police Department detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying those responsible for the shooting of two local teens Sunday (April 9).

Officers arrived at the scene, an In-N-Out Burger restaurant located at 53 W. El Camino Real, at approximately 8:30 p.m., according to a MVPD press release. By then, the two victims, both teenage boys from Mountain View, had arrived at an area hospital and were undergoing treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

The victims and witnesses told officers a black, four-door SUV with dark window tinting drove up to the victims’ vehicle, and at least one person inside the SUV shot at the two teens before peeling away eastbound on El Camino Real, the release stated.

Both victims sustained gunshot wounds to their upper bodies but have since been released from the hospital, according to the release. Officers discovered bullet casings near the In-N-Out Burger.

No description of the shooter or shooters was readily available in the days following the incident, and the MVPD is not currently releasing any additional information as the case remains an active investigation.

The police department requests anyone with information about the shooting to contact MVPD Detective Dan Garcia at [email protected]
