The Palo Alto Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man who robbed a gas station clerk on the border of Los Altos Tuesday (Feb. 9) evening.

The police department learned of the armed robbery at 9:16 p.m. Tuesday, according to a press release issued Thursday. Shortly before, a man approached the clerk at the 76 gas station, located at 835 San Antonio Road near Highway 101, pointed a gun at him and demanded money from the cash register. The clerk, a man in his 50s, was not injured during the attack. His assailant left the scene before police officers arrived.
The clerk was unable to discern the robber’s race, but he provided police officers with the following description of the man: approximately 25 years of age; an estimated 5 feet, 7 inches tall; thin build; and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a red face covering and light-colored jeans. The weapon he used was a handgun silver or white in color.
