A Mountain View Police Department investigation regarding sexually explicit images of a minor resulted in the arrests of two Mountain View men Tuesday (Jan. 12).

According to an MVPD statement issued Wednesday, detectives’ investigation of the matter began in September after the department received a Facebook message about a man allegedly using the social media network to share and view child pornography or, as the department now describes it, “child sexual abuse material.” The materials included photos and videos of underage victims.

Detectives conducted a months-long investigation into the matter that culminated early Tuesday with the execution of a search warrant at a home within the 200 block of Escuela Avenue, according to the statement. There they found and arrested 18-year-old Ismael Dominguez, charged with suspicion of child pornography possession, and 21-year-old Maximo Juarez, whom detectives suspect of engaging in a sexual relationship with an underage girl. Juarez is charged with suspicion of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. Both men were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
