MV police searching for suspect who attempted to pull woman’s shorts down Monday

The Mountain View Police Department is asking for the community’s help to find a young, white male who allegedly tried to pull a resident’s shorts down while she was walking on Diericx Drive Monday afternoon.

Officers said at approximately 12:40 p.m., the 40-year-old woman was walking eastbound near Franklin Avenue when the suspect approached her from behind and attempted to pull her shorts down. She screamed, causing the suspect to escape on foot northbound on Franklin, the victim told police.

When Mountain View police arrived on scene, they “conducted an extensive area search but were unable to find the suspect,” according to a statement from the department.

The victim described the suspect as between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, a black and gray horizontal striped shirt, black shorts and black shoes.

Anyone with information is urged to call Detective Robert Medina at 903-6189.
