Two men who robbed a pair of Los Altos Hills residents at gunpoint Saturday (Jan. 27) remain on the lam following the incident.
The incident happened at approximately 4 p.m. as two female residents were walking in the driveway of their home, located in the 1300 block of Wright Way, according to Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office reports.
One of the victims “contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report she had been robbed,” said Capt. Rich Urena in an interview Tuesday. “Specifically, she had mentioned somebody had held a gun to her and had taken her belongings.”
The men snatched the victims’ purses, which contained their personal belongings and house keys, Urena said. The women were not touched or harmed during the incident.
The description of the suspects released by the Sheriff’s Office is vague: a black male, “younger in age,” carrying a black handgun and a “light-skinned male” wearing a black hoodie. They drove away from the scene toward Elena Road in a white Toyota car of unspecified model with paper plates.
With assistance from the Sheriff’s Office Star One helicopter, deputies established a perimeter around the area, but they were unable to locate the suspects after a lengthy search, Urena said.
It’s possible the suspects are associated with other theft-related crimes committed in Palo Alto, Urena said.
“This is still an ongoing investigation, so detectives are working on leads and trying to determine who may have done this,” Urena said.
