The Mountain View Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man who fired gunshots into the air during a recent incident downtown.
No one was injured in the shooting, which occurred at approximately 2 a.m. Nov. 26 near the intersection of Villa and Bryant streets, according to police reports.
Officers heard the shots while responding to a call about a fight near the intersection of Villa and Castro streets, but it is not known whether the fight and the shots were related, police reported. They did not find evidence of the initial fight, but they did recover bullet casings near where witnesses said the suspect fired his gun.
Witnesses described the shooting suspect as a Hispanic male in his 20s, according to police reports. The man is approximately 6 feet tall with a slim build and has a trimmed beard and slick, black hair. He fled the scene in a burgundy Toyota Tundra pickup.
