Armed robbers take $1,000 from Mountain View business

The Mountain View Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in identifying two armed men who robbed a check-cashing business of $1,000 Thursday (July 13).

The robbery took place at Check into Cash, located in the 800 block of El Camino Real, just east of Highway 85, according to the police department. At approximately 10:30 a.m., two masked men entered the business, ran behind the counter and demanded cash from an employee. One of the men held a handgun. Witnesses spotted them running westbound on El Camino Real afterward.

Both suspects are adult black men, according to police. The first suspect wore a red hoodie, a black hat, blue jeans, black and blue shoes, black gloves and a white dust mask. The second suspect wore a white or gray-colored hoodie with “NIKE” and that company’s trademark “swoosh” printed in large block text across the front. He also wore blue jeans, blue shoes, black gloves a white dust mask and a black backpack.
