Mountain View Library hosts presentation on senior resources

Photo Elliott Burr/Town Crier Greg Hartwell of Homecare California is scheduled to speak at Senior Care 101.

Engage As You Age, a company that provides social visits for isolated seniors, has scheduled Senior Care 101 1 p.m. Sept. 10 in the Community Room of the Mountain View Public Library, 585 Franklin St.

Panelists include experts in areas identified as problems for aging adults: Ben Lewis, moderator and founder of Engage As You Age; Greg Hartwell, certified senior adviser and managing director of Homecare California; Nancy Norris, financial planner, care manager and fiduciary; Megan Perdue, senior services program director at the Community Services Agency; and Tessa ten Tuscher, Ph.D., geriatric psychologist and CEO of Living Well Assisted Living at Home.

Panelists will discuss how to navigate the maze of senior care and will provide information on resources available to seniors, families and caregivers.

“Whether people chime in during the town-hall-style meeting or come up afterward and ask panelists in private for help, everyone gets their questions answered one way or the other,” Lewis said.

Panelists will offer attendees advice and connect them with community resources. The goal is to provide information that addresses immediate eldercare, life-planning issues and how to proactively tackle common challenges that people face as they age.

Seniors and those living with and/or caring for them are invited to attend the free event.
