The Los Altos Art Club’s group exhibition “Art in My Heart” is scheduled for display through June 1 at Main Street Cafe & Books, 134 Main St.
The exhibition features an array of 35 pieces of fine art in watercolors, oils, acrylics, pastels, ink and mixed media (mosaics, broken-plate mosaics and fused and shattered glass).
Since its founding in 1945, the Los Altos Art Club has organized group art shows annually.
“Our artists learn that their passion for art can mold young minds, can give a different perspective of the world and can teach that art makes our hearts happy,” said Daniela Friedmann, club vice president and art show coordinator.
Participating art club members will be on hand at the cafe for Meet the Artists events, scheduled 12:30-5 p.m. May 8 and 16. According to Friedmann, the informal gatherings are valuable outlets for engagement.
“A communication highway will be established, with active lanes of artistic ideas, beneficial feedback and human interactions streaming back and forth,” she said.
“Art in My Heart” visitors are encouraged to cast their votes for their favorite pieces. Winners of best-of-show, second-place and third-place honors will receive ribbons.
Admission is free and open to the public during business hours, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sundays.
