Retired children’s librarian Enid Davis, left, accepts the 2013 Special Ogre Award at a Harker School ceremony last month.

The Harker School presented Los Altos resident Enid Davis its 2013 Special Ogre Award March 21 for her years of dedication to the school’s library programs.

Before retiring last year, Davis served 36 years as the school’s librarian and as children’s librarian at the Los Altos Library. She is currently a member of the Los Altos Library Commission and teaches oral storytelling workshops to teachers, parents and children through a new initiative, Story Friends.

Davis has scheduled a free two-session storytelling workshop for families with children 8 and older 2-3:30 p.m. Saturday and April 27 at Linden Tree Books, 265 State St., Los Altos. To reserve a space at the workshop, call 949-3390.
