The third annual Los Altos Neutra House FILM+Conversation Series kicks off Thursday with a screening of “Greene and Greene: The Art of Architecture.” All films in the series are scheduled 7-9 p.m. at Neutra House, 181 Hillview Ave., Los Altos.
The film showcases the work of Charles and Henry Greene and explores their contribution to the culture of California in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Other upcoming films in the series:
• May 9: “The Oyler House: Richard Neutra’s Desert Retreat.” The Michael Dorsey film tells the story of a house Neutra designed in 1958 in Lone Pine and chronicles the friendship that developed between the owner and the architect and their families. After the film, the audience will have an opportunity to chat with the film’s producer via Skype.
• June 13: “Coast Modern: Modern Architecture from Vancouver to LA.” The film presents homes designed by three generations of modernist architects in the context of their times. Interviews with some of the most respected modernist designers and historians provide added insight into these masterpieces of modern living.
Admission is $20 per film, $50 for the three-film series.
