MV library hosts BikeFest Saturday

The Mountain View Public Library has scheduled BikeFest, a street-festival-style celebration of cycling, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the library’s parking lot, 585 Franklin St., and the adjacent Pioneer Park.

The Silicon Valley Bike Coalition, the Bay Area BikeMobile, Safe Moves, Great Streets Mountain View, Vintage Electric Bikes and the YMCA will participate in the event.

Activities include bike spin art, a bike rodeo, free tune-ups and pop-up fitness classes.

The event is open to all ages and all types of bikes.

The Library Bike Stop initiative funds BikeFest. The grant-funded initiative includes the installation of the Dero FixIt station in front of the library, the purchase of books and tools, and bike-related programming.
