Food trucks return to Rock Back the Clock

Hula-hoopers will put their spin on this year’s 1950s-themed Rock Back the Clock event.

The annual 1950s-themed Rock Back the Clock dinner and dance is scheduled 6-10 p.m. Friday at Rancho Shopping Center, corner of Foothill Expressway and Springer Road in Los Altos.

The family-friendly event features music by DJ Rens Boorsma, dance contests and prizes. Classic cars will be on display along the sidelines.

Proceeds from Rock Back the Clock support the Los Altos Festival of Lights Parade.

Dr. Kevin Sawyer, who operates his dental practice at Rancho, serves as chairman of the Rock Back the Clock Committee. He said he hopes a large crowd turns out for this year’s event.

“The evening is our neighborhood block party that provides funds for the Los Altos Festival of Lights Parade,” he said.

The committee will resurrect a popular feature from last year: a selection of food trucks rather than the traditional hot dog stands. Sawyer said the food trucks promote a “gourmet” approach to the event.

Admission is $5. An adult must accompany children under 18.
