GreenTown hosts night bike ride

GreenTown Los Altos has scheduled an 18-mile summer solstice night bike ride Thursday, with check-in beginning 7 p.m. at Peet’s Coffee & Tea, 367 State St., Los Altos.

After departing Peet’s, cyclists will bike under Highway 101 and arrive at Palo Alto’s Baylands Nature Preserve to watch the sunset at approximately 8:30 p.m. The group will return to Los Altos via the Stevens Creek Trail as it gets dark, with an optional stop in Mountain View for hot chocolate, coffee and socializing.

Museum's Apricot STEM event aims to capture state-fair feel

Local residents can break out their microscopes and favorite apricot recipes and head to a mini-version of an old-fashioned state fair, minus the livestock.

The Los Altos History Museum’s 2018 Apricot STEM Fair is scheduled 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 24 at the museum, 51 S. San Antonio Road.

Foothills Amateur Radio Society hosts field day for observers

Foothills Amateur Radio Society is scheduled to demonstrate the capabilities of amateur radio at Amateur Radio Field Day June 23-24.

The 24-hour event will begin 11 a.m. June 23 and end 11 a.m. June 24 in a field owned by Maryknoll Residence, directly across the street from Rancho San Antonio Park at 23000 Cristo Rey Drive, Los Altos.
