MV mayor leads bike tour Saturday

Mountain View Mayor Lenny Siegel has scheduled a “Ride with Lenny” bike tour 10 a.m. Saturday beginning in the Landels Elementary School parking lot, 115 W. Dana St., Mountain View.

The easy, family-friendly ride is designed to showcase the city’s bicycle infrastructure and note developments along the route.

At the Library

The following free events are scheduled at the Los Altos main library, 13 S. San Antonio Road. Events are held in the Orchard Room unless otherwise noted. For more information, call 948-7683 or visit sccl.org/losaltos.

• 7 p.m. today: Master Gardener Vera Kark will discuss basic steps for planning, setting up, planting and harvesting a vegetable garden. Master Gardeners of Santa Clara County is co-sponsor of the presentation.

Forum addresses people living in vehicles

The Mountain View-Los Altos League of Women Voters has scheduled the forum “Why Are People Living in RVs and Campers on the Streets of Mountain View?” 7-8:30 p.m. Feb. 8 in the Mountain View Senior Center Multipurpose Room A, 266 Escuela Ave.

The forum will explore who is living in their vehicles, why and the impact on city services and neighborhoods.

This month’s First Friday event will feature a Valentine’s Stroll 5-8 p.m. Friday in downtown Los Altos.

Co-sponsored by the Los Altos Village Association and Los Altos First Friday, the festivities will include live music on the streets, in-store specials and sales, wine tastings and promotions, dinner and beverage specials in restaurants and illuminated trees filled with hearts with custom Valentine’s messages.

Schola Cantorum hosts Valentine’s sing-along

Schola Cantorum Silicon Valley has scheduled a Valentine’s-themed group sing-along 3 p.m. Feb. 11 at Los Altos United Methodist Church, 655 Magdalena Ave.

Led by Dawn Reyen, Schola Cantorum’s assistant conductor, the sing-along will feature lyrics projected on a screen.
