The Los Altos Affordable Housing Alliance is scheduled to host a virtual community event, “Understanding RHNA,” 7-8:30 p.m. Monday.

The event is designed to inform residents about the Regional Housing Needs Allocation process, what its target numbers are for Los Altos, what is needed for the city’s housing element and how the city can plan for the new homes.

Housing targets, or RHNAs, are allocated to each city and specify a required number of new homes at each income level: very low, low, moderate and above moderate.
