Veteran jazz pianist Larry Vuckovich, guitarist Joshua Breakstone and bassist Jeff Chambers are scheduled to headline a concert 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the Wunderman House, 655 Eunice Ave., Mountain View.
Vuckovich has performed in Mountain View a number of times, but Sunday’s concert marks the first local appearance by Breakstone, who has recorded and performed with some of the greatest names in jazz: Barry Harris, Tommy Flanagan, Kenny Barron, Pepper Adams, Jack McDuff and Al Harewood, among others. He has performed all over the world and currently lives in Japan.
Vuckovich and Breakstone are reuniting – they performed together in New York in the mid-1980s, including a one-week engagement at the West End club that featured drummer Mel Lewis and his bassist partner Dennis Irvin.
The concert will feature Vuckovich and Breakstone performing some originals, including Vuckovich’s Balkan ethnic music, jazz tango, swinging bebop from the Sonny Clark repertoire and more.
Suggested donation is $25. Refreshments – wine, cheese, chocolate and cookies – will be served.
