The Shoreline Lake Boathouse & American Bistro in Mountain View has scheduled two PaddleTogether events, aimed at bringing the special needs, volunteer and paddling communities together for a half-day, with the goal of making a difference for people who might typically not get to enjoy water sports.
Hosted by the Santa Cruz-based nonprofit Paddle4Good, the events will provide inclusive on-the-water activities for people of all abilities, including stand-up paddling, kayaking and other paddle sports, as well as lawn games and an awards ceremony.
Activities are set for 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for participants and 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for volunteers Saturday and Sunday.
There is no restriction on special needs for participants (ages 4-24), and volunteers can choose to take part via three main groups – Buddies, Water Teams and the Support Team.
Admission is free.
The Shoreline Lake Boathouse & American Bistro is located at 3160 N. Shoreline Blvd.
