The San Francisco Symphony is scheduled to headline the 33rd annual Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular, 8 p.m. July 4 at Shoreline Amphitheatre, 1 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View.
With the theme “To the Moon and Back,” the event will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing.
Conducted by Edwin Outwater, the symphony will feature guest vocalists Capathia Jenkins and Constantine Maroulis performing hits such as “Rocket Man,” “Fly Me to the Moon” and “I Feel the Earth Move.”
The program also will include video presentations by Jose Francisco Salgado, a salute to the U.S. Armed Forces and selections by composers John Philip Sousa, Richard Strauss, Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, John Williams and Mason Bates, among others.
Co-sponsors of the event include the city of Mountain View, ABC7 and Bonneville San Francisco.
