Jazz trio performs at Wunderman House

Jazz musicians Charlie McCarthy, Larry Vuckovich and Doug Miller are scheduled to perform 3-5 p.m. Saturday at the Wunderman House, 655 Eunice Ave., Mountain View.

McCarthy has performed with Sarah Vaughan and Frank Sinatra. Miller, a bassist, has shared the stage with the orchestras of Duke Ellington and Count Basie. Vuckovich is an internationally acclaimed jazz pianist set to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award in August.

The program will include famous jazz instrumental pieces from the bebop and swing eras.

Suggested donation is $25.

SIR lunch features talk on social services

Sons In Retirement Los Altos Branch 35 has scheduled a luncheon and presentation by Josh Selo on “Safety Net Services in Silicon Valley” 11:30 a.m. June 19 at the Palo Alto Elks Lodge, 4249 El Camino Real.

Selo is executive director of the nonprofit West Valley Community Services.

SIR is a social organization open to active, mature men.

LACF sponsors solstice celebration

Los Altos Community Foundation has scheduled a “Summer Solstice Celebration” 5:30-8 p.m. June 20 at the Behar family’s historical Marini House near downtown Los Altos.

The event will include appetizers and locally produced wines. Local residents can network with foundation donors and learn about the organization’s impact and opportunities to become involved.

Tickets are $45 per person. Reservations are required by Thursday.
