May’s First Friday festivities are scheduled 6-8 p.m. Friday in downtown Los Altos.
The event will feature a Mother’s Day theme, along with extended hours at shops, galleries and restaurants, some of which will offer discounts and promotions.
Entertainment will include performances by 10 bands of varying styles, scattered around downtown.
A reception at Nature Gallery, 296 State St., will honor the high school students who won the Rotary Club of Los Altos’ annual Young at Art contest.
“First Friday is all about a great evening vibe in charming downtown Los Altos,” said organizer Jamie Lucia. “It’s a fun evening for everyone.”
Local residents who support First Fridays with a donation of $20 or more will receive a First Friday baseball cap. To donate, stop by Nature Gallery, Los Altos Community Foundation at 183 Hillview Ave or Los Altos Community Chiropractic at 371 First St.
First Friday is a program of Los Altos Community Foundation. Volunteers meet 7-8 p.m. the first and third Thursdays of every month at Nature Gallery. New participants interested in improving the event are encouraged to attend and offer suggestions.
