The Rotary Club of Los Altos has scheduled its 44th annual Fine Art in the Park fundraiser, a two-day open-air festival featuring fine art, live music, food and beverages, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. May 18 and 19 at Lincoln Park along Foothill Expressway across from downtown Los Altos.
This year’s event will highlight 156 fine artists and artisans from Los Altos, the greater Bay Area and out of state. Forty-five of them are new to the show, and 23 are from out of state. The artists work in a breadth of media and styles – painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, mixed media, ceramics, glass, stone, metal, wood and textiles.
Proceeds from the festival support the Los Altos Rotary Endowment Fund.
“Many artists say this is their favorite show,” said Carol Dabb, Fine Art in the Park’s artist coordinator. “They love how cordial and friendly the attendees are and how Rotarians take such good care of them.”
Local jazz, blues and rock artists will perform, and a wide variety of food, wines and beers will be available for purchase.
“Fine Art in the Park not only showcases some of the finest artists in the world, but our all-volunteer staff represents the enthusiasm Rotary shows in all of our charitable work,” said event director Stan Scardino. “From the early planning stages to cleanup on Sunday night, our volunteers make the show happen; they are the main reason 100 percent of the proceeds benefit Rotary’s projects.”
Free parking and shuttle services are available at Los Altos High School, 201 Almond Ave.; and in Los Altos Hills at Gardner Bullis School, 25890 Fremont Road, and town hall, 26379 W. Fremont Road.
