At the Library – Week of April 3

• 4-5 p.m. first and third Mondays: A knit and crochet circle serves all skill levels.

• 6-8 p.m. Monday: A free “Crafts After Dark” program is scheduled for adults and teens.

• 7 p.m. Tuesday: René Welti, founder of ECHO Rails & Trails, will give a multimedia overview of the Swiss Alps.

• Food for Fines: The Santa Clara County Library District, including the Los Altos libraries, launched its second Food for Fines program, in which patrons can waive up to $100 in fines and fees in exchange for a nonperishable food donation of any amount. In its initial monthlong offering in 2018, the district collected the equivalent of nearly 30,000 meals in partnership with Second Harvest of Santa Clara and San Mateo counties.
