Celebrity Forum kicks off year with foreign policy expert Bremmer


The 51st season of the Foothill College Celebrity Forum Speaker Series is currently underway.

The Foothill-De Anza Community College District sponsors the series, and founder Dick Henning serves as moderator.

The remaining lineup for the 2018-2019 season:

• Ian Bremmer, Thursday and Friday. Bremmer is a foreign policy expert and the author of “Superpower,” the best-seller exploring the United States’ options as a superpower.

• Diane Keaton, Feb. 21 and 22. Keaton rose to fame as an actress in the 1970s for her work in Woody Allen films, including “Annie Hall,” which earned her the Oscar for Best Actress. She will discuss her life, including her relationships with Warren Beatty, Al Pacino, Jack Nicholson and Sam Shepard.

• James Comey, March 21 and 22. Comey was appointed as the director of the FBI in 2013 by former President Barack Obama and fired by President Donald Trump in 2017, setting off a political firestorm. At the time, Comey was investigating Trump’s association with the Russians.

• Dan Buettner, April 18 and 19. Buettner is an explorer, award-winning journalist and founder of Blue Zones, which studies places with the world’s oldest and healthiest people. His presentations is titled “How to Live to Be 100.”

All Celebrity Forum programs are scheduled 8 p.m. at Flint Center on the De Anza College campus, 21250 Stevens Creek Blvd., Cupertino.
