Noon Monday: “PBS News-Hour” has teamed up with The New York Times for the book club Now Read This. The club allows readers to participate in discussions in real time and ask questions of the authors. The book club will meet to discuss “A Separation” by Katie Kitamura.
7 p.m. Tuesday: A book discussion for adults will center on Amor Towles’ best-selling “A Gentleman in Moscow.”
7 p.m. Nov. 29: GreenTown Los Altos will lead a discussion on “Buy Fresh, Buy Local: The Case for Being a Locavore.” The event will stress the importance of getting food as close to home as possible. Speakers will include local food policy expert Peter Ruddock, Los Altos resident and edible landscapes author Rosalind Creasy and chef, educator and author Laura Steck.
7 p.m. Dec. 4: Local author Robin Chapman will discuss her new book, “Historic Bay Area Visionaries.” Chapman, a longtime journalist and Los Altos native, serves on the board of the Los Altos History Museum and writes a column for the Town Crier.
