League of Women Voters' Mtn. View forum addresses people living in vehicles

The Mountain View-Los Altos League of Women Voters has scheduled the forum “Why Are People Living in RVs and Campers on the Streets of Mountain View?” 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday in the Mountain View Senior Center Multipurpose Room A, 266 Escuela Ave.

The forum will explore who is living in their vehicles, why and the impact on city services and neighborhoods. Speakers will discuss the challenges Mountain View faces and how the city can balance the needs of the struggling population with the concerns of residents.

Featured speakers will include Tom Myers, executive director of Community Services Agency; Kimberly Thomas from the city manager’s office; and Sgt. Wahed McGee of the Mountain View Police Department.

Admission is free and open to the public, but space is limited.
