Los Altos hosts free summer concerts
The city of Los Altos’ 15th annual Summer Concert Series continues 6 p.m. Thursdays through Aug. 3, with free performances alternating between Hillview Park, 97 Hillview Ave., and Grant Park, 1575 Holt Ave.

‘Daze’ ahead at MV’s Thursday Night Live!
The city of Mountain View’s Thursday Night Live! series continues 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday and July 27 on Castro Street between Mercy and Villa streets.
The weekly events feature live music, a farmers’ market, a classic-car show and children’s activities.

Museum marks 40 years with garden party
The Los Altos History Museum is scheduled to celebrate its 40th anniversary with a “Summer Garden Party Under the Oaks” 5-8 p.m. July 23 at the museum, 51 S. San Antonio Road.
The dinner will honor community leaders who have supported the museum over the past 40 years, including past museum presidents, major donors, former Los Altos and Los Altos Hills mayors and longtime volunteers.
The event will include a photo booth; a photo wall featuring past events, activities and volunteers; appetizers; dinner catered by Karen Bevels Custom Catering; a no-host bar serving wine, Gordon Biersch beer and Wildcide Hard Cider; and music by MaCaJo Acoustic Folk Harmonies.
Tickets are $50 per person; the deadline for reservations is Tuesday. A vegetarian option is available by advance request.
Sons In Retirement sponsors monthly lunch
Silicon Valley’s Sons In Retirement Branch 35, an organization comprising retired men from all professions, has scheduled its monthly luncheon 11 a.m. Aug. 16 at the Palo Alto Elks Lodge, 4249 El Camino Real.
Featured speaker Jim Colton will report on his quest to play the top 25 college golf courses in the U.S. and find the best local brews.
Luncheons are free to first-time visitors.
