The French family of Los Altos Hills – Nick, Melissa, Grayson and Parker – won the family division with their witchy-themed ensemble “Room on the Broom.”

From “Dr. Doggie Fauci” to a “Bloody Barista,” members of the Los Altos Hills Youth Commission selected the winners of the town’s virtual Halloween costume contest.

The French family of Los Altos Hills – Nick, Melissa, Grayson and Parker – won the family division with their witchy-themed ensemble “Room on the Broom.” Sean Tracy of San Francisco clenched the adult division with his creepy “Bloody Barista” costume, which included a Starbucks drink order for “Karen.” San Francisco resident Jan Edquilang’s “Dr. Doggie Fauci” secured the pet division. And the youth division and overall winning entry went to “Red Fox,” submitted by Autumn Carlson of Los Altos Hills.

The contest, designed with help from the town’s Parks and Recreation Department to celebrate Halloween safely during the COVID-19 pandemic, ran Oct. 23-31. Commissioners selected winners based on what they considered the funniest, wackiest and most creative costumes. They awarded Autumn the grand prize of a horseback riding lesson at Westwind Community Barn; other winners received gifts from Present in downtown Los Altos.
