Members of the newly formed nonprofit Arts Los Altos have scheduled an unveiling for their first art installation 8 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 2).

Artists who created the sculpture, under the collaborative HYBYCOZO (Hyperspace Bypass Construction Zone), will be on hand to answer questions and discuss their inspiration.

HYBYCOZO comprises artists Yelena Filipchuk and Serge Beaulieu, in addition to an assortment of expert fabricators, handlers and installers. The Oakland-based HYBYCOZO creates, fabricates and installs artwork worldwide.

Arts Los Altos members founded their nonprofit with a mission to expand public art by placing art installations on private property in downtown Los Altos with private donations. Arts Los Altos seeks donations from local residents, business owners, investment groups and foundations.

Arts Los Altos plans to host a silent auction with one of HYBYCOZO’s lamps.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, live attendance is limited. For a link to a live feed of the event, which begins at 8 p.m., or for more information, visit artslosaltos.org.
