Local Arts Roundup: Los Altos Hills digital gallery features work of mixed-media artist Offenbacker

“Helga” is among Terenia Offenbacker’s works on display in Los Altos Hills’ digital gallery.

Each month the Los Altos Hills Public Art Committee showcases the work of a different resident artist. The committee’s fine-art digital gallery features the work of award-winning artist Terenia Offenbacker through Saturday.

Offenbacker’s gallery of 20 pieces provides a selective survey of her work. She is known for the expressiveness of her mixed-media collages created from paper and found objects, her abstract existentialist works and her oil portraits that are reminiscent of Amedeo Modigliani’s paintings.

The Los Altos Hills resident said she is inspired by Modigliani’s simple lines and rich earth tones and incorporates those characteristics into her own unique portrait stylings of family, friends and those she has encountered in her travels.
