Los Altos Community Foundation’s Community Grants Program is accepting grant applications for its spring grants cycle through Feb. 12.
The program supports nonprofit organizations and activities that serve Los Altos, Los Altos Hills and Mountain View.
LACF’s Community Grants Program facilitates new and emerging philanthropy and provides operational grants to established local organizations. In 2018, LACF granted more than $192,000 to local nonprofit groups through the program.
Grants are awarded for events, programs or projects that meet one or more of the following objectives: encourages local philanthropy and involvement, addresses local needs and/or enhances the quality of life in the community.
A few examples of recent grants for new projects and programs include:
• Bring Me a Book Foundation to support low-income family engagement for reading aloud at home.
• Healthier Kids Foundation to vision-screen at least 165 underserved preschoolers and elementary school children in the area.
• The Health Trust for its Meals on Wheels program that delivers groceries, daily hot meals and wellness checks to low-income seniors and adults with disabilities.
