• Mission: The Foothill College Veterans Resource Center aims to ensure that student veterans and military service members have access to quality services and opportunities for academic success, professional growth and meaningful employment.

• 2018 update: The Rotary Club of Los Altos donated to the Veterans Resource Center to help fund construction of Veterans Plaza on the Foothill campus and creation of the Veterans Mural commemorating those who have served.

The Foothill College 50th reunion of the 1968-1973 Vets Club was celebrated in Veterans Plaza, and a plaque was awarded honoring those students who devoted their time and talents as members of the club.

Vets Club members shared their past experiences and challenges and offered ideas for supporting the current veteran students interested in establishing a student veterans club.

Foothill College student veterans reactivated the Student Veterans of America chapter on campus to provide opportunities for leadership, community service and camaraderie.

• Why the Holiday Fund is needed: The Veterans Resource Center needs financial help to provide books and scholarships for student veterans as well as funding for emergencies – including gift cards for gas, food and clothing – when Veterans Affairs is late in releasing funds.
