Following a candidates’ forum held Sept. 5, the Los Altos Women’s Caucus has endorsed the following candidates running for seats in local elections.

• Neysa Fligor for Los Altos City Council

• Kavita Tankha for Los Altos Hills City Council

• Vaishali Sirkay and Ying Liu for Los Altos School District Board of Trustees

• Debbie Torok and Fiona Walter for Mountain View Los Altos Union High School District Board of Trustees

More than 110 women attended the candidates’ forum, titled “Wine, Women and Politics,” held at the home of Pinky Whelan in Los Altos. All of the women candidates running for local office were represented.

The forum included short presentations by each candidate, followed by questions from the audience. Council candidates revealed sharp differences regarding support for the Los Altos Downtown Vision and Measure C, while questions to the school district candidates revealed concerns about location and use of the potential 10th campus of the Los Altos School District, and the possibility of installing lights at the athletic fields at Mountain View and Los Altos high schools.
