The Rotary Club of Los Altos surprised Foothill College President Judy Miner last week, presenting her with the Paul Harris Award, the club’s highest honor.

“Dr. Miner has been supportive in all our efforts at Foothill College,” said Jack Kelly, current president of the club. “This is a great partnership and it is getting greater. Dr. Miner, we truly appreciate all your efforts partnering with Los Altos Rotary. It’s been wonderful, thank you.”

Miner, who attended the Rotary Club meeting to make a presentation about the opera, expressed her shock in receiving the reward.

“I really am stunned,” she said. “It’s an incredible honor. Like so many of us who have the privilege of occupying presidencies, it really is the team that makes us look so good. So I want to accept the award on behalf of all my colleagues at Foothill.”

Miner and Kelly praised the Rotary Club’s work at Foothill, particularly its support for the college’s Veteran’s Resource Center.

“Rotary has been so amazing when it comes to supporting all of our programs,” Miner added.
