Town Crier readers voted Eeli Ram’s “Haunted” the first-place winner in the paper’s 2013 Spooky Stories Contest.
Ram’s creepy story of a butchering Guy Fieri, zombie actors and the ultimate banquet received the most votes, followed by Alex Kemble’s “Hunting Ghosts.” It was the second consecutive year Tremble placed second in the contest. Ram received a $50 check from the Town Crier for the effort, and Kemble received $25.
“We received an outstanding array of stories this year, with authors of all ages joining in the fun,” said Town Crier Editor-in-Chief Bruce Barton. “Active imaginations and excellent storytelling are alive and well in Los Altos.”
Reader voting was especially vigorous this year, with more than 60 readers weighing in on their favorites.
“A big thank you to all who participated,” Barton said.
