Rose Market reopens in MV

Rose Market, the popular Persian grocery and deli at El Camino Real and Castro Street in Mountain View, reopened its doors last week after a multiyear closure for the site’s redevelopment. The shop stocks Middle Eastern produce, dried goods and deli foods in addition to making its own specialty foods. A walk-up window will sell simple grilled meat meals at lunch and dinner.

Oana Singa’s pop-up exhibition, “Oana Singa: Art Inspired by the Theatrical and the Absurd,” opened in Los Altos Jan. 18 and runs through April 30.

When artist Oana Singa moved from Romania to the United States with her husband and a baby on the way nearly 15 years ago, language was the biggest barrier to adjusting to her new home. Now, English words fill the paintings that hang in her temporary studio at 4846 El Camino Real in Los Altos.

Singa’s pop-up exhibition, “Oana Singa: Art Inspired by the Theatrical and the Absurd,” opened Jan. 18 and runs through April 30, when the recently approved Altos One housing complex will begin to take shape on the property.

MV Chamber of Commerce celebrates leaders

The Mountain View Chamber of Commerce has scheduled its 24th annual Celebration of Leaders Awards 6-9:30 p.m. March 1 at the Computer History Museum, 1401 N. Shoreline Blvd., Mountain View.

This year’s awards will recognize Young, Craig & Co. LLP as Outstanding Business, the Community School of Music and Arts as Outstanding Nonprofit Organization and former Mountain View Mayor Ken Rosenberg as Outstanding Businessperson.
