In an effort to help drive business at local eateries that for now are restricted to offering just takeout and delivery due to shelter-in-place orders, the city of Los Altos is sponsoring Restaurant Takeout Week beginning Friday (Jan. 22).
More than 25 of the city’s restaurants will offer exclusive items and discounts through Jan. 31.
“The City is excited to see our restaurants come together to host a Restaurant Takeout Week,” Mayor Neysa Fligor said in a press release. “I got a sneak peek at some of the offers, and let’s just say my kids have already given me their orders. I encourage all residents to participate in any way that they can, while still following the County and State COVID-19 guidance and orders.”
Santa Clara County has been under a regional lockdown since December, preventing restaurants from hosting outdoor dining. The city organized the promotion in collaboration with the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce and the Los Altos Village Association.
“We’re optimistic this program will give restaurants the extra push they need to survive until outdoor dining is allowed to resume,” said Anthony Carnesecca, the city’s economic development coordinator.
