Merchants meeting

on First-Main site

The Los Altos Village Association and the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce are combining forces for a joint meeting to hear the input of downtown merchants on desired development for the city-owned site at Main and First streets. The meeting is scheduled for 8 a.m., Thursday, at Los Altos City Hall, 1 N. San Antonio Road, Los Altos. City staff will be available for questions.

The .78-acre site, purchased in 1995, has been the subject of intense discussion among the Los Altos City Council, would-be developers and the general public. Some favor a combination of condominiums and a movie theater while other want a revenue-generating hotel at the site.
