The Silicon Valley Association of Realtors introduced its 2020 leadership team at an event held Jan. 23 at Los Altos Golf & Country Club.

Jeanne Radsick, California Association of Realtors president, administered the oath of office to SILVAR President Mary Kay Groth, officers and board directors. Chris Trapani, Sereno Group co-founder, served as master of ceremonies.

In addition to Groth, a realtor with Sereno Group Los Gatos, SILVAR’s new slate of officers includes Joanne Fraser, a realtor with Compass Los Altos, as president-elect, and Jeff Bell, broker manager of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cupertino, as treasurer.

SILVAR’s lead officers for the year: Alan Barbic of Sereno Group, past president; Bill Moody of Referral Realty, Region 9 chairman; and Leannah Hunt of Sereno Group, NAR director.

District chairs: Francesca Lampert of Coldwell Banker, Menlo Park-Atherton; Lynn Wilson Roberts of Compass, Palo Alto; Greg Boudreau of Coldwell Banker, Los Altos-Mountain View; Mark Burns of Coldwell Banker, Cupertino-Sunnyvale; and Elizabeth Doyle of Sereno Group, Los Gatos-Saratoga.

Directors at-large: Brett Caviness of Compass; Katherine Frey of Katherine Frey Real Estate; Eileen Giorgi of Sereno Group; Jim Hamilton of Compass; Penelope Huang of Golden Gate Sotheby’s Real Estate; and Karen Trolan of Sereno Group.

Groth said it is an honor to serve as president as SILVAR marks its 25th anniversary. Six boards on the Peninsula and in the South Bay – Los Altos, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Menlo-Atherton, Sunnyvale and Los Gatos-Saratoga – merged Jan. 1, 1995, to become the Peninsula West Valley Association of Realtors, which became the Silicon Valley Association of Realtors in 1999. She acknowledged the contributions of Susan Tilling and Marlene Rodman, two of the six presidents who signed SILVAR’s founding merger documents in 1994 and are still active realtors.

Attending her first state realtor legislative meetings opened Groth’s eyes to the strength of the realtor voice, she said, and the meetings impressed upon her even more that being involved was not only worth her time, but “a call to serve.”

“I look forward to serving our association and its members in 2020, and proudly wear the National Association of Realtors slogan for 2020 – ‘Realtors, that’s who we R,’” Groth said.

This year’s installation sponsors included Sereno Group, MLSListings, DeLeon Realty, Keller Williams Bay Area Estates and the SILVAR districts of Los Altos-Mountain View, Cupertino-Sunnyvale, Palo Alto, Menlo Park-Atherton and Los Gatos-Saratoga.
