Members of the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce held their 2019 Awards Banquet Jan. 21 at Chef Chu’s restaurant, handing out six awards and introducing board members and new 2020 officers.
Rashad Wiley of Star One Credit Union received the New Member of the Year award, while Keith Battaglia and Hyatt Centric Hotel nabbed the award for Outstanding New Business.
The Special Recognition Award was given in memoriam to former Chamber board member and chairman Dr. Sam Pesner, who died last year.
Chamber members honored El Camino Health with the Architectural Design and Enhancement award for building the new Taube Pavilion, home of the Scrivner Center for Mental Health and Addiction Services, and the Sobrato Pavi- lion.
Los Altos Community Foundation’s LEAD (Leadership Education and Advancement) program received the Community Leadership award.
Lawrence Chu Sr. and Chef Chu’s were recognized with the Community Legacy award on the eve of the restaurant’s 50-year anniversary.
The Chamber of Commerce also honored outgoing 2019 chairwoman Margo Felt and welcomed 2020 chairman Joe Maleti.
